Overview

Our client, a leader in liquid detection and handling systems since 1936, is seeking a relationship-driven Regional Sales Manager to support and grow an established customer base throughout the Northeast. Products include electronic automatic and continuous self-checking overfill prevention systems, self-proving grounding systems as well as vapor-sensing and identification systems.

This field-based role combines consultative sales, technical expertise, and strategic account management to deliver industry-leading solutions to customers operating in highly regulated and safety-critical environments.

The ideal candidate is a self-motivated sales professional with experience selling technical products or systems into industrial markets. This individual will focus on building long-term customer relationships, identifying growth opportunities, and serving as a trusted advisor to clients across New Jersey, New York, and New England.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and expand an existing customer base while developing new business opportunities throughout the assigned territory.
  • Drive consultative, solution-oriented sales efforts with:

 

  • Petroleum and chemical producers
  • Liquid tank carriers and fleet operators
  • Tank truck manufacturers and OEMs
  • Terminal operators and bulk storage facilities
  • Home heating fuel and biofuel transport companies
  • Tank accessory distributors and wholesalers

 

  • Conduct technical presentations, product demonstrations, and solution-based discussions with engineers, operations leaders, safety professionals, and executive stakeholders.
  • Develop strategic territory plans, sales forecasts, and customer engagement strategies.
  • Represent the organization at industry trade shows, conferences, and customer events.
  • Maintain accurate sales activity, pipeline, and forecasting information within CRM systems.
  • Provide product training and technical support to customer operations and technical teams.
  • Collaborate with internal engineering and leadership teams by sharing customer feedback, market trends, and competitive insights.

Qualifications:

  • Experience working within petroleum, chemical processing, liquid transfer, transportation, or hazardous materials environments is highly desirable.
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Engineering Technology, Business, or a related field preferred.
  • Strong understanding of electronic controls, monitoring systems, industrial equipment, or communication technologies.

Experience:

  • 5–10 years of experience in technical sales, applications engineering, account management, or solution-based selling.
  • Proven success selling electronic, electromechanical, or industrial systems and equipment.
  • Experience presenting technical solutions to OEMs, fleet operators, manufacturers, or customers within regulated industries is preferred.

Territory & Travel

This is a field-based position supporting customers throughout the Northeast, including:

New Jersey, New York, Connecticut, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, Maine, and Vermont.

  • Travel up to 80% during the workweek.
  • Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record required.
  • TWIC credential, or the ability to obtain one, required for access to regulated facilities.
