Our Boston-based, non-profit client has an immediate opening for an Interim VP Finance to join their team on a contract to hire basis. This role will oversee and manage the entire accounting and financial reporting functions of the organization.
Responsibilities:
- Manage the annual external financial audit and IRS Form 990 preparation for two entities
- Manage monthly and year-end close process
- Organize the annual budget and reforecast process and oversee the accounting department and officer manager’s annual budget and reforecast process
- Collaborate with cost center heads/senior managers with the ‘budget to actual’ review monthly
- Create and maintain company metrics that assist in monitoring operations
- Manage and propose updates of financial policies and procedures
- Responsible for project management as needed
- Assist the CFO in the fiscal/business affairs of the corporation
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting; CPA or graduate degree preferred
- Significant and demonstrated experience in accounting and accounting software, with 5 or more years of experience
- Strong systems proficiency (Windows, MS Office, Excel)
- NetSuite experience is a plus
- Knowledge of GAAP, budgeting, financial reporting, and analysis
- Active participation in proposing solutions to problems and making recommendations for improvements
- Strong time management skills and attention to detail
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Sound business acumen and the ability to establish credibility, trust, and partnership at all levels of the organization
- Strong interpersonal, supervisory, and customer service skills
- Ability to multi-task, work under pressure, and meet deadlines
