Description

Our client is seeking an Inside Sales Representative to support business growth by identifying, qualifying, and developing new opportunities within the medical device and life sciences sectors. This role serves as a key link between prospective customers and internal teams, helping to generate qualified leads, support the quotation process, and drive revenue growth.

The ideal candidate is proactive, relationship-focused, and comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment where technical products and customer needs intersect.

Key Responsibilities

  • Research and identify prospective medical device OEMs, emerging companies, and strategic targets.
  • Execute outbound prospecting campaigns through phone, email, and LinkedIn outreach.
  • Qualify inbound and outbound leads to assess potential opportunities.
  • Schedule discovery meetings and introductions for Business Development Managers.
  • Follow up on trade show leads and marketing-generated inquiries.
  • Evaluate customer requirements, including product specifications, regulatory considerations, production volumes, and timelines.
  • Assess strategic fit based on manufacturing capabilities and available resources.
  • Maintain detailed prospect and opportunity records within the CRM system.
  • Manage sales opportunities and pipeline activity using Salesforce, HubSpot, or similar CRM platforms.
  • Track prospect engagement, follow-up activities, and conversion metrics.
  • Generate pipeline and activity reports to support business development initiatives.
  • Process incoming RFQs and coordinate distribution to cross-functional teams and external partners.
  • Source raw material pricing through established supplier networks.
  • Collaborate with engineering and new product development teams to develop manufacturing cost models.
  • Prepare and assemble customer quotations for review and presentation.
  • Support targeted marketing campaigns and customer engagement initiatives.
  • Coordinate with marketing teams to ensure consistent messaging and sales collateral.
  • Assist with lead nurturing efforts and customer follow-up activities.
  • Partner closely with Engineering, Operations, Program Management, and Business Development teams.
  • Develop a strong understanding of manufacturing capabilities and service offerings.
  • Facilitate the smooth transition of qualified opportunities into the sales process.
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
  • Responsibilities may evolve based on business needs.

Qualifications

  • 2–5 years of experience in inside sales, business development, lead generation, or a related sales role.
  • Experience within medical device, life sciences, precision manufacturing, or other regulated industries is preferred.
  • Prior exposure to contract manufacturing or OEM sales environments is highly desirable.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to understand and discuss technical manufacturing concepts.
  • Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
  • Self-motivated with a proactive approach to business development.
  • Proficiency with CRM platforms and Microsoft Office applications.
  • ISO 13485 and FDA-regulated manufacturing environments.
  • Medical device product development lifecycle.
  • Contract manufacturing services, including:
    • Injection molding
    • Precision machining
    • Product assembly
    • Sterilization
    • Packaging operations

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, or a related field preferred.

Success Measures

Performance in this role may be evaluated based on:

  • Pipeline value generated
  • Lead-to-opportunity conversion rate
  • RFQ turnaround time
  • Revenue generated from sourced opportunities

Work Environment

  • This position requires 100% on-site attendance.
  • Candidates should be comfortable working in a collaborative manufacturing and business development environment.
