National Payroll Week

As we come off our Labor Day weekend and get back to work, we enter a new week important to the American Worker; National Payroll Week.

The American Payroll Association founded National Payroll Week back in 1996 in an effort to create awareness around the partnership between the American Worker, their employers and our government who helps guide us in creating an environment where workers can contribute back to their communities, both socially and economically.

The week also pays tribute to those who work in the payroll industry. Those in the payroll position do more than just pay workers. They are responsible for making sure workers are paid properly and accurately, benefits are properly provided to those workers and deductions are precise so both the American worker and our government programs benefit.

As you may know, there are a number of very important programs that are funded through payroll deductions such as social security and Medicare among others.

Also, in many cases, a great payroll professional will assist you in ways to save money and manage your paycheck and deductions.

In all, the payroll professional at an organization has a very important job and one that does not go unnoticed.

So take a few moments and thank your payroll professional this week for all the hard work they do for you and the organization that employs you.
