Description
Our client, a public sector management consulting and operations improvement firm, has an immediate opening for a Revenue Accounting Manager. This role will bring together accounting expertise, cross-functional influence, and client-focused communication to ensure accurate revenue recognition and scalable processes that support long-term success.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and mentor a team of revenue and AR professionals, providing structure, guidance, and growth opportunities
- Oversee the month-end revenue close, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance across all revenue-related accounts
- Review contracts and advise internal stakeholders on ASC 606-compliant revenue recognition
- Act as a trusted partner to client-facing and business operations teams, supporting revenue-related decision-making
- Drive updates to accounting policies, systems, and procedures to enhance efficiency and maintain GAAP compliance
- Serve as the primary point of contact for external auditors related to revenue and AR
- Analyze client engagements for capitalizable costs and collaborate on cost accounting strategies
- Partner with Financial Planning & Analysis and Finance Systems teams to improve Workday Financials reporting and automation
- Prepare tailored reports and insights for internal stakeholders and leadership
Requirements:
- Proven leadership experience in accounting, ideally with revenue or AR team oversight
- Deep understanding of U.S. GAAP, particularly ASC 606 (including gross vs. net revenue and cost capitalization)
- Strong relationship-building and communication skills, with a proactive, collaborative mindset
- Experience guiding operational teams and providing education on revenue policies and best practices
- Advanced proficiency in Excel; Workday Financials experience is a plus
- A high level of integrity, discretion, and attention to detail in managing financial information
