Position Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented Temporary Accounting Specialist to support day-to-day financial operations. This role partners closely with the Accounting Manager and plays a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting close processes, and ensuring compliance with IFRS and internal policies.

The ideal candidate brings a strong foundation in accounting principles, the ability to manage multiple priorities, and a proactive approach to identifying and resolving discrepancies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support monthly, quarterly, and annual close activities to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting
  • Assist with revenue-related activities, including invoicing, sales support, and related inquiries
  • Prepare and post journal entries; maintain organized and accurate financial documentation
  • Manage accounts receivable and accounts payable processes, including cash applications and payment processing
  • Perform account reconciliations and analyses (bank statements, fixed assets, accruals, prepaid expenses, and benefits-related costs)
  • Process expense allocations, accruals, and fixed asset depreciation; complete adjusting and reclassification entries as needed
  • Monitor and analyze financial data to ensure accuracy, integrity, and compliance with IFRS and internal controls
  • Prepare audit and tax documentation; support internal and external audit processes
  • Investigate and resolve financial variances, identifying opportunities to improve processes and efficiency
  • Conduct costing and inventory analyses, including manufacturing cost and gross margin impact
  • Support additional accounting and finance-related tasks as needed

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including cost analysis capabilities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively across teams
