We are seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to join a well-established, family-owned construction company. This is a high-impact leadership role for a hands-on accounting professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys supporting both day-to-day financial operations and long-term business growth.

The ideal candidate brings strong construction accounting experience, leadership capability, and the ability to work closely with ownership and operations teams. This position is fully onsite and offers a clear path to executive leadership.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead and manage a small accounting team of 4–5 employees
  • Oversee daily accounting operations, financial reporting, and internal controls
  • Monitor project budgets, job costing, and financial performance across active projects
  • Support bid proposal financial analysis and forecasting
  • Oversee payroll processes, including union-related payroll considerations
  • Ensure accurate reporting, reconciliations, and compliance with accounting standards
  • Partner with leadership to support strategic financial planning and decision-making
  • Utilize ERP systems, including VISTA/Trimble, to maintain accurate financial data

What We’re Looking For

  • 6–10 years of accounting or financial management experience within the construction industry
  • Prior leadership experience managing or mentoring accounting staff
  • Experience working in a union employee environment
  • Strong understanding of job costing, project budgeting, payroll, and financial reporting
  • Experience with VISTA / Trimble ERP strongly preferred
  • CPA preferred
  • Comfortable working onsite 5 days per week
  • Experience in a family-owned or entrepreneurial business environment is a plus

Growth Opportunity
This role offers strong long-term growth potential, with the expectation of developing into a CFO-level position within 1.5–3 years for the right candidate.
