Overview:
A highly regarded human services organization is seeking compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to provide person-centered support to adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. In this role, you will be instrumental in empowering individuals to lead independent, fulfilling lives while promoting inclusion and dignity in daily activities.
Key Responsibilities:

Provide direct, hands-on support for individuals in residential or day program settings

Assist with personal care routines, including hygiene and mobility, where needed

Support individuals in engaging with their community, including transportation and accompaniment to recreational or vocational activities

Coach and mentor individuals in developing life skills such as cooking, budgeting, communication, and relationship-building

Encourage participation in daily routines and the pursuit of personal interests

Ensure the safety and well-being of individuals while fostering independence

Administer medications in accordance with MAP (Medication Administration Program) guidelines, if certified

Maintain documentation, progress notes, and communication logs in accordance with program standards

Collaborate with families, healthcare providers, and internal teams to provide individualized support
Ideal Candidate:
-
Prior experience in human services or direct care preferred, but not required
-
MAP certification preferred; must be willing to complete MAP training and certification upon hire
-
Empathetic, patient, and committed to person-centered care
-
Comfortable assisting with personal care and behavioral support as needed

Strong communication skills and ability to work both independently and as part of a team

Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation strongly preferred

Ability to pass background checks and required trainings
