Description
Our client, a fast-growing cannabis wholesale start-up, has an immediate opening for a Chief Financial Officer. This role will own FP&A, cash/treasury (13-week), GAAP close, investor/lender relations, and scalable systems (ERP/BI). They will also partner with the CEO to drive growth, margin, and compliance.
Responsibilities:
- Stand up budgets/forecasts, KPI dashboards, and controls
- Manage cash flow, credit facilities/ABL, and banking/credit union relationships
- Oversee close, audits, tax (incl. 280E), and seed-to-sale (METRC) reconciliations
- Negotiate vendor terms and improve inventory/COGS visibility
- Build/mentor a small, high-performing team
Requirements:
- CFO/VP Finance/Controller experience in start-up/high growth or highly regulated distribution (beverage/chem/med-surg, etc.)
- Fundraising or lender-facing track record; ERP/BI implementation (e.g., NetSuite/Intacct/Power BI)
- CPA or MBA required (both preferred)
