King & Bishop is hiring on behalf of our client for an experienced Assistant Director of Business Development – Membership. This is a senior, market-facing role focused on expanding membership growth, developing new business opportunities, and closing high-value corporate and guesthouse partnerships.
The ideal candidate brings strong commercial leadership, outbound prospecting expertise, and a proven ability to build senior-level relationships while driving measurable revenue growth. This position plays a key role in expanding the top-of-funnel membership pipeline and strengthening business transient and corporate engagement.
Key Responsibilities

Proactively expand the membership pipeline through outbound prospecting, partnerships, referrals, and external networking

Identify and engage new individual, corporate, and institutional prospects aligned with membership criteria

Develop and maintain a steady flow of qualified prospects for transition into the membership application process

Represent the organization at business, cultural, and community events to generate awareness and new opportunities

Lead senior-level sales conversations, tours, negotiations, and closing activities with high-value prospects

Convert qualified opportunities into committed members in alignment with pricing and brand standards

Partner closely with internal membership development leadership to ensure seamless prospect-to-applicant transitions

Identify and secure business transient and corporate guesthouse opportunities

Build relationships with corporate travel managers, institutions, and repeat-use clients

Structure extended-stay agreements and negotiated-rate partnerships

Identify opportunities to convert corporate relationships into membership growth and vice versa

Provide leadership, guidance, and mentorship to direct reports

Share best practices in outbound sales strategy, prospect qualification, and deal execution

Provide market insights related to membership demand, corporate trends, and guesthouse usage

Track pipeline activity, prospecting efforts, and sales performance using CRM tools

Maintain accurate documentation and operate within a metrics-driven environment focused on growth and accountability
Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree required

8–12+ years of experience in senior sales, business development, or revenue-generating roles

Demonstrated success expanding pipelines through outbound prospecting and relationship-driven sales

Proven experience closing high-value deals with executive or corporate stakeholders

Experience in Business Transient, corporate travel, hospitality, private club, luxury brand, real estate, or similar environments strongly preferred

Strong communication, negotiation, and presentation skills

Professional presence aligned with premium hospitality or relationship-focused environments

Experience working within CRM systems (PeopleVine or similar)

Proficiency in Microsoft Office
