Position Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented Temporary Accounting Specialist to support day-to-day financial operations. This role partners closely with the Accounting Manager and plays a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting close processes, and ensuring compliance with IFRS and internal policies.
The ideal candidate brings a strong foundation in accounting principles, the ability to manage multiple priorities, and a proactive approach to identifying and resolving discrepancies.
Key Responsibilities
- Support monthly, quarterly, and annual close activities to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting
- Assist with revenue-related activities, including invoicing, sales support, and related inquiries
- Prepare and post journal entries; maintain organized and accurate financial documentation
- Manage accounts receivable and accounts payable processes, including cash applications and payment processing
- Perform account reconciliations and analyses (bank statements, fixed assets, accruals, prepaid expenses, and benefits-related costs)
- Process expense allocations, accruals, and fixed asset depreciation; complete adjusting and reclassification entries as needed
- Monitor and analyze financial data to ensure accuracy, integrity, and compliance with IFRS and internal controls
- Prepare audit and tax documentation; support internal and external audit processes
- Investigate and resolve financial variances, identifying opportunities to improve processes and efficiency
- Conduct costing and inventory analyses, including manufacturing cost and gross margin impact
- Support additional accounting and finance-related tasks as needed
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational and time management skills
- Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including cost analysis capabilities
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively across teams
