Associate Attorney

Our growing litigation firm client is seeking an ambitious Associate Attorney with 1–3 years of civil litigation experience to join its Providence, Rhode Island office. This is an excellent opportunity for an attorney who is ready to take ownership of cases, gain meaningful courtroom experience, and work alongside experienced litigators in a collaborative and supportive environment.

The successful candidate will work on a diverse portfolio of complex civil litigation matters, including:

Compensation & Benefits

Salary: $105,000 – $130,000 annually plus sign on bonus

Key Responsibilities

• Manage a diverse civil litigation caseload from inception through resolution.
• Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, discovery requests, and responses.
• Conduct legal research and prepare legal memoranda.
• Develop and implement litigation strategies.
• Handle and defend depositions.
• Manage all phases of discovery.
• Prepare for and participate in hearings, mediations, and trials.
• Collaborate with partners, clients, experts, and litigation teams.
• Maintain proactive client communication and provide case updates.
• Ensure compliance with court rules, deadlines, and case management requirements.

Qualifications

Required

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an ABA-accredited law school.
• Admission to the Rhode Island Bar in good standing.
• 1–3 years of civil litigation experience.
• Experience practicing in Rhode Island state and federal courts.
• Experience taking and defending depositions.
• Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
