Our client, a fast-paced biotech firm in the Greater Boston area, is hiring a Sr. Accountant to join their team.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all aspects of revenue recognition and gross-to-net reserves including working closely with external consultants and the 3PL
  • Partner with FP&A to provide revenue inputs and assumptions used in annual budget, forecasts, and long-term plan
  • Collaborate with commercial functional areas on key strategic areas, including pricing dynamics and contract administration, evaluating new business opportunities, and decision-making support
  • Ensure monthly and quarterly close deliverables related to revenue recognition under ASC606 are completed timely and accurately, including reconciling, reviewing, and preparing journal entries for various accounts (i.e., accounts receivable, revenue, gross-to-net reserves, etc.)
  • Maintain and analyze revenue and warranty reserves to ensure compliance with revenue recognition
  • Assist with preparation of related disclosures to support the SEC filings
  • Ensure compliance with internal control (SOX 404) for related areas
  • Ad hoc analysis and other special projects as assigned

Requirements:

  • Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting with a minimum 3+ years of industry experience
  • Broad knowledge of accounting principles (US GAAP)
  • Internal controls (SOX) experience
  • Strong systems skills; experience with top tier accounting/ERP system; proficiency with Microsoft Excel
  • Able to follow instructions for multiple projects with competing priorities and tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Able to work independently as well as with other groups across the business
  • CPA or candidate seeking CPA certification preferred
  • Experience in Biotech/Life Sciences preferred
