Description
Our client, a renowned art museum, has an immediate opening for a Payroll Manager. This role is responsible for all aspects of the day-to-day processing of company payroll.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for training, supervising, and working with payroll administrators for accurate and timely processing of all phases of weekly and bi-weekly payrolls to meet specific deadlines
- Establish and maintain internal controls to prevent fraud and/or theft
- Review payroll for accuracy
- Verify, record, and reconcile all quarterly tax filings made by ADP: FIT (941’s) FUTA (940) and SUI taxes
- Review and distribute W-2’s annually
- Work directly with ADP Payroll Account Representative for all maintenance to payroll system
- Reconcile, create, and submit the bi-weekly 403b files
- Maintain and record all IRS and Court ordered levies and support payments for payroll deduction
- Work closely with Financial Department on bank reconciliation of Payroll account and maintenance of accurate manual/void logs
- Produce and distribute quarterly vacation/sick/personal days report to department heads
- Act as liaison between payroll and internal and external audit groups
- Prepare ad hoc custom reports as requested by upper management and managers
- Handle confidential data as part of daily responsibility
- Perform other related duties as required or as directed
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related field required
- 7+ years of experience in a senior payroll role in a complex mid to large
organization - Management and leadership experience in hiring, training, coaching, and
evaluating staff - Payroll experience in a non-profit environment a plus
- A demonstrated track record of consistently meeting deadlines with a high level of accuracy
- Excellent research, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- A collaborative style with excellent communication skills
- Strong computer literacy with a strong preference for ADP Workforce Now and Oracle payroll systems
- Ability to maintain privacy and confidentiality
- Experience processing union dues and other related matters a plus
- Must stay abreast of field-related regulations and best practices, sharing with HR colleagues as necessary
