Description

Our client, a renowned art museum, has an immediate opening for a Payroll Manager. This role is responsible for all aspects of the day-to-day processing of company payroll.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for training, supervising, and working with payroll administrators for accurate and timely processing of all phases of weekly and bi-weekly payrolls to meet specific deadlines
  • Establish and maintain internal controls to prevent fraud and/or theft
  • Review payroll for accuracy
  • Verify, record, and reconcile all quarterly tax filings made by ADP: FIT (941’s) FUTA (940) and SUI taxes
  • Review and distribute W-2’s annually
  • Work directly with ADP Payroll Account Representative for all maintenance to payroll system
  • Reconcile, create, and submit the bi-weekly 403b files
  • Maintain and record all IRS and Court ordered levies and support payments for payroll deduction
  • Work closely with Financial Department on bank reconciliation of Payroll account and maintenance of accurate manual/void logs
  • Produce and distribute quarterly vacation/sick/personal days report to department heads
  • Act as liaison between payroll and internal and external audit groups
  • Prepare ad hoc custom reports as requested by upper management and managers
  • Handle confidential data as part of daily responsibility
  • Perform other related duties as required or as directed

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related field required
  • 7+ years of experience in a senior payroll role in a complex mid to large
    organization
  • Management and leadership experience in hiring, training, coaching, and
    evaluating staff
  • Payroll experience in a non-profit environment a plus
  • A demonstrated track record of consistently meeting deadlines with a high level of accuracy
  • Excellent research, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • A collaborative style with excellent communication skills
  • Strong computer literacy with a strong preference for ADP Workforce Now and Oracle payroll systems
  • Ability to maintain privacy and confidentiality
  • Experience processing union dues and other related matters a plus
  • Must stay abreast of field-related regulations and best practices, sharing with HR colleagues as necessary
