Description
Our client, a national engineering firm, has an immediate opening for an HR Director. The HR Director manages an HR team of eight staff members who provide Human Resources services and support to employees. This position oversees all facets of the Human Resources function, including talent acquisition, orientation and onboarding, benefits, employee relations, compensation, HR operations, HR data and systems, and special projects.
Responsibilities:
- Coach and lead individual team members
- Manage day-to-day operations of the HR team
- Develop and manage HR budgets
- Manage Employee Handbook and interpret policies in day-to-day work with employees
- Administer group benefit plans, including Profit Sharing and 401(k) Plan
- Lead cross-functional new hire onboarding steering committee and manage HR new hire orientation
- Manage internal complaint investigations
- Other responsibilities
Requirements:
- BA/BS in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field
- HR certification, preferably SHRM-SCP and/or SPHR
- 10+ years of varied and progressive Human Resources experience, with multi-site and multi-state experience
- Benefits, compensation, HRIS, recruiting, and employee relations experience
- Minimum intermediate proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Experience in HRIS, preferably ADP web-based HR products
- Proven track record in successful hands-on management of HR programs
- Track record in successful people management. Able to delegate and coach successfully. Able to flex between hands-on collaboration with team members and operating in oversight mode, allowing team members to take the lead
- Proactive self-starter who can work independently, manage competing requests and priorities, problem solve, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced, high-energy environment
- Collaborative, prefers teamwork and team success without a rigid structure, and able to build strong relationships with teammates and internal clients at all levels of the organization
- Experience in analyzing and improving or creating processes and procedures
- Organized and focused on detail and quality. Can effectively set priorities, manage time, analyze and solve problems, and communicate ideas (written and verbal)
- Able to maintain and elevate outstanding customer service, in cooperation with a highly regarded HR program/team
- Highest level of professionalism and integrity, with the proven ability to handle and manage confidential information
